Wowzers what a week. You all have gone above all my expectations with the orders this week, keep it up <3. The increased income is getting me closer to a very important goal of mine. I want to be in a position where I can pay my employee for full time work and get him of needing to supplement with WINZ. With what's happening currently and how valuable he has been to the store, instead of working for 9 hours over 3 days (with overtime if he wishes) he's now working 16 hours over 4 days. Thank you all very much, this couldn't have happened without your support.
As a side note of this, you may have seen that our shipping days have changed again. We are now shipping all days Monday-Thursday and not on Friday. There are a couple of reasons for this. Firstly, I've seen more and more people and companies move to 3 day weekends or 9 day fortnights. I believe this is definitely a more beneficial way to go for an employees health (both physically and mentally) and I want to support this where I can. And in this situation it just makes sense.
The reason for cutting Friday in particular, is that it seems like a much less important day than Monday. Nothing we ship on Friday will arrive until Monday anyways, and when people are looking for cards for events its almost always for the weekend, so shipping those cards out on Friday won't help. All other benefits for shipping Friday I feel vastly out way the downsides of not giving David a 3-day weekend.
I really do appreciate your support, and hope you will continue to support me and the business. I would love to be able to pay David a proper wage sooner rather than later.
