Hi All,
Wow what a busy couple of weeks. We got a pretty cool collection of cards while down in Queenstown this past week, you might have seen it go up on the website. In fact the entire 'Latest Restocks' collection is just cards added to the store since Friday and there's still a lot more to come.
The plan is to continue with the Dunedin Modern/Legacy next weekend. It sounds like the worst of the flooding has passed and we should be good to go. If you want to trade for any cards (or just get free shipping) and sort it out while we are in Dunedin now is the time to place those orders. Orders will need to be placed by 4pm on Thursday. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all down there.

We found out 2 nights ago that we are being evicted from our current place. The owners want to move in. We have until Jan 27th 2025 to leave, but if we find a place sooner then our contract here gets cancelled so there's no issue of paying double rent. We've already applied for a place that if we get will have us moving in 10 days.
We are holding off on cash buylists for the moment as if we get that place we will need all the cash we can get.
I guess I should mention the Jeweled Lotus, Mana Crypt, Dockside, and Nadu bans, but after 2 weeks of it being everywhere I'm pretty tired of it. One thing which surprised me though is just how many people are in the camp of "why do people care, EDH is just a casual format, remove all ban lists and let 'rule zero' solve everything.
As someone who has hosted games of commander basically since it's inception, 'rule zero' is far from a solution to the ban problem. It's a nice reminder that commander is a casual format first and foremost and that any groups wanting to can decide to play the format how they wish, but it is not remotely close to solving the solution the ban list is created for. Which is for pub games, things like magicfests and just general disagreements within playgroups. It's oh so great to have an official ban list to point to and going "This. This is what we are playing with".
Right, that's me. I've got more work to do (so very much more work to do) I'll hopefully see a number of you in Dunedin next weekend.
