I thank you for your understanding that I haven't been posting while I'm away, but let me tell you, those weeks away is exactly what I needed <3. With David working with the store and all of your emails I got to have mental space without the business in the back of my mind. Something I haven't really had since I started 5 or so years ago.
So with my old flatmate moving out and my new one moving in I've had to buy about $3K worth of furniture, kitchenware and other bits and bobs. This is good news for all of you because it means I'm having a sale to recoup some of that.

The other update is with Kaldheim. Between the increase in box prices and needing to buy all this homeware I will have half the stock that I usually do. Hopefully for the next set I'll be able to have more.
Going into more detail here, some of you may not know, but for us, opening cases is a lost leader. Meaning that we lose money on them, but we buy them because you guys want it. We lost money on them before and we are losing even more money with the new prices. I would rather not ramp up our store prices on you so we have an idea this time to help mitigate this.
As some of you know we tend not to stock a lot of foils. This is because they can be quite slow moving and we'd rather get rid of them quickly to keep up a bankroll to buy more cards. The other thing we do to keep finances flowing is to only have 4 of a card in stock at any one time.
The exception to this is when a new set comes out. We put all of our copies in the store that we open, then about a month in we trim them back to 4 and get rid of the excess elsewhere. We are going to do the same with foils. Foils will go in for a new set when we open cases and we will remove any leftover foils about a month in.
This is a new, exciting year and I hope you are looking forward to it as much as I am.
