First off, apologies for last week. It was my brothers 30th, and I was so far out of it that even writing an article to say no article felt like an unbelievably huge amount of work. I'm doing better this week.
Also March already?!? This year is going fast.
Time Spiral remastered spoilers have started, mildly amused that the price of a box of Time Spiral Remastered, and the card Time Spiral are currently about the same price.
These old-bordered cards look really cool, but as a MUD player (the deck is named thus because all of the old artifacts look like mud) I'm really keen for the artifacts. Since it's being spoiled by colour it looks like I'll have to wait a while.
The other big news is more crossover sets? Not legal in standard, there will be a complete set release in the Warhammer 40K universe and one in the Lord of the Rings universe.
As much as I'm not super excited at the prospect of playing Sméagol aggro, or Gandalf the White control in Modern, I agree a lot with what Saffron Olive said in a video this week. "The 2 things I want out of magic is for people to get into it and enjoy my hobby, and for the game to be good. If wizards does these 2 things, then regardless of how I personally feel I don't really mind them doing whatever else".
Reserved list stuff is still crazy, but it's starting to settle for the moment. Other than that, everything seems to be looking OK. Kaldheim seems to be good in both standard and limited. If they keep this up with Strixhaven I'll be very happy.
Lastly, while the bans are mostly last weeks news, I am very happy with each and every ban. I'm pretty excited to play all these formats again. Particularly Legacy, but also Pioneer in which I have had a deck built for a year now and I'm yet to play a game.
Oh and I almost forgot. For those of you who like foils, we've been holding onto masterpieces(expeditions/invocations) as well as boxtoppers and the like and putting them into the store. On the Invocation side we recently added 3 Daze, 3 Dark Ritual, 1 Scorpion God, 1 Scarab god. Keep your eyes on that sort of stuff though, more cards will be added.
