Hi All. Long time no update,
I'm trying to stick to the Bi-Weekly update schedule that my blog is named for (even though I haven't done so before). I've been finding it easier to find stuff to talk about on a fortnightly basis vs a weekly basis.
Outlaws of Thunder Junction is out now, and I have to admit I haven't drafted or played with any of the cards yet (I may have gotten too distracted by Fairy Tale Fables... ... >_>) Still the cards I have seen played look powerful and I'm sure when I do jump in that I'll enjoy myself lots <3.
A couple of upcoming events. There's one in Invercargill towards the end of June, but given I don't know if it's been officially announced yet I don't want to go into anymore details.
The other thing that has been announced is Eternal Weekend in Auckland ft Premodern, Legacy, and Vintage all 100% proxies allowed. Some of the cards in these formats are getting way too pricy, and I believe this has come down to a mix of wanting to get more people involved in awesome old formats, but also some of the players that can afford everything wanting to not play with their 10-20KUSD+ bits of cardboard where they might get damaged.
The eternal weekend looks like a lot of fun, but sadly without knowing in advance what business I'll get while I'm there, and our current financial situation, I haven't decided if I'm able to justify the trip up or not. We don't need a lot to justify it, about $1K in profit would do, only a couple of duals traded, but as I don't know how much trading I'll be able to do in the store, it's something that's up in the air right now. Might have to be something I do next year when our finances aren't quite as strained.
It's unfortunate, but it's just where we are at the moment.
Anyways it looks like a super fun time and there's still time before it arrives in the middle of June to see where our finances are at, so it's just a wait and see game at this point.
Hope you all are having a great week,
- Rose Willis
