Hi all,
It's been an interesting week. It started to look like we might not be able to afford any Kamigawa Neon Dynasty, but we've managed to sort some funds, and hopefully we'll have close to a case, if not a full case on Friday :).
We are also continuing to have foot problems. My foot isn't quite right yet, and David's foot has started causing issues. So with those 2 things mentioned, a couple of announcements.
I am not paying cash for any buylists until after we get our own Kamigawa stock in on Friday. And random commons and uncommons won't be dug up until one of our feet get better. Those boxes are heavy!
As for Kamiawa itself, it looks super cool, and I'm mostly really into it. I have a couple of complaints about it, but mostly these are pop culture cards.
The voltron card (Mechtitan Core I believe it's name is?) is the prime example of these, so that's what I'll use.
It feels like it does not fit at all on the plane of Kamigawa, and feels that it's only in the set "because japan". We are going to a Japanese inspired plane, lets do all the big japanese things people like, even if they don't fit in with the flavour of the set.
Don't get me wrong, it's a cool card and I'll play with it, it just feels like doesn't fit Kamigawa and would be better put in a different set elsewhere =/.
I also feel as though it was a missed opportunity to give the more futuristic element more of a cyberpunk Hong Kong vibe.
Anyways, that's my rant, the extended lands seem to be super popular and will sell out fast. We get the stock around 2.30 and the cards should be in the store between 5 and 6 on Friday.
