Your Bi-Weekly Update with Willis 25-09-2023

Every time I put up a sale on short notice I get people telling me that they wish they had some warning, they've spent all their money already. This is your warning here, we are holding a sale in about a week, we've got some bills that need paying and we are still feeling the damage from the trip we probably shouldn't have taken earlier in the year.

Right, that said I want to get into the main topic today. F**K double faced tokens, GAH!

Work has been a bit slow around here the last couple of weeks so we've been going through a lot of our back room stock that was bulky enough to not have a high priority, and also has included some EDH's I'd taken apart but hadn't got around to putting the cheaper cards in the store.

One of the things I tackled during this time was Double-Sided tokens, which I now have, what I feel is a justified hatred for. Tokens are cool, and 2 sided potentially more so, but how on earth do you sort them in an order? The new sets have been actually fantastic for it, with Brothers War all having Powerstones on one side, so we can organize it alphabetically for the other side. Wilds of Eldraine works too, with each token having a food, even if the food comes in 4 different types we can still establish and order.

But when you go back earlier and earlier, to when double-sided tokens in collector boosters began it really is just the wild west. It feels like random token on the front, random token on the back. No rhyme or reason whatsoever, leaving us in a position where unless a double-sided token from those sets are valuable, we just don't bother putting them into the store as we can't figure out an order to set them in.

That's my rant, and that's where I'm going to leave it today. One quick last thing before I go, we've increased all our buylist prices just a bit, but hopefully that encourages you all to consider selling to us when you want to move your cards. If you haven't checked our buy prices recently, it's worth giving that a shot, particularly on cards we sell over $25.
